PHANTOMWARE SLIDESHOWS VOL.1 Warner Bros. Cartoons Thankyou for booting this file and for ordering the disk in the first place. The slideshow is freeware and I want you to spread it as much as possible (so long as nothing is removed or altered). I first had the urge to try doing slideshows about two years ago when a cousin of mine lent me his Amiga over Christmas. I began piddling about with DPaint 2 and turned out a reasonable Starship Enterprise and lunar landscape. I decided to save for my own Amiga (which took AGES) and in October '92, bought a second hand A500+. I managed to get a cheap copy of DPaint 3 from a friend and immediately began to work on some new stuff I had been buying Amiga magazines for a while and noticed that CU AMIGA ran an Art Gallery. Three weeks after buying my Amiga I had a picture that I considered worth submitting and "The Master" was published in the December issue. Although this was extremely pleasing, I still lacked the confidence to submit anything to a PD library. I mucked around for a few months, still not really exploiting the potential of DPaint fully, until I came across a routine to make a slideshow in an AMIGA FORMAT supplement. After compiling a short show of some of my work, I decided to go ahead and concentrate on a single subject for my first PD release. PHANTOMWARE will be a mainly sci-fi and horror platform as far as slide- shows go. The only reason I began with Warner Bros. is that I had literally TONS of source material to work from. I also intend to move into animation and multimedia when my setup is up to scratch. Future projects I have in mind include Dr Who, Judge Dredd and Gerry Anderson (which will probably be a multimedia shareware project). The next release should be available in late August (Dr Who) and will be obtainable directly from me at the address below. The price is £1.50, which may seem high but the postage and packing will account for 75p. Adding the disk cost will leave me a very small profit to put towards some extra RAM. If anyone would like to write with any comments or suggestions, I'd love love to hear from you. Please enclose an s.a.e for replies. Finally, if anyone has ANY sci-fi or horror photos and magazines to get rid of, please send 'em! I'd also like to hear from anyone who can help me with ProTracker. I'm hopeless! My address: Tim Symonds 49 Ash Road Dogsthorpe Peterborough PE1 4PF ENGLAND.
